If you are looking to get out of the house more and haven't hiked much in the past, or if you have been out a few times, or even if you are advanced and looking for some harder trails, this group is for you. We will have hikes for different levels.

Please note that as we get into winter hiking with snow and slippery trails, we consider proper Crampons to be mandatory.
The event host can ask you not to participate if you don't have proper footwear including Crampons. More Crampon

Membership Dues - We have no membership fees
- We believe that hiking, enjoying the outdoors, and exercise are always best free-of-charge
Membership Donations
- ...but we'd like to have the funds to elevate the club beyond the bare minimum
- so if you can afford to spare some of your hard-earned monetary income -- or that not-so-hard-earned
birthday money from grandma that you've been saving since you were six...
- please consider sending an e-transfer to: donations@gtahiking.ca
- you can donate as little, as much, or none at all.
- if you plan to hik ten times over the next year, a donation of $1, $2, or $3 per hike, depending on your financial comfort, would be
much appreciated.
What will your donation pay for? - the various costs of our Meetup account -- including premium reporting so we know what's going on -- roughly $500 annually
- we're jumping from 2
regular hiking leaders to 6 -- we'd like to cover their app expenses so they have the confidence and comfort to lead more larger hikes
- coffee and snacks -- in-support of post-hike
parking-lot conversations
- social gatherings like club BBQ and group restaurant reservations that are more than zero dollars
- charity events that need a few dollars to co-ordinate
successfully.
- we've also had requests for some more interesting items like: on-trail guest-speakers (like foraging, photography, bird-expert, or survivalist), top-of-the-hill mini-events
(like 10-minute yoga, meditation, or musician)
